Description

A 23-year-old female patient with a Class III malocclusion and anterior crossbite presented for orthodontic treatment. The treatment plan consisted of uprighting and distal movement of mandibular molars to correct anterior crossbite and Class III molar relationship. Extra-oral anchorage (E.O.A.) was used for molar distalization in the lower dentition along with a pre-adjusted edgewise appliance. The total treatment time was 19 months. A Class I molar relationship was achieved by distalizing the mandibular molar and correct overjet and overbite were obtained. A favorable lingual retrusion of the lower lip and improved facial profile were achieved.
