Various artificial illuminations offer us comfortable conditions publicly and privately. One of the important subjects in this fields is illuminating a certain area more effectively and as uniformly as possible.　For this purpose, we propose a special lens method which works with any optical sources. In this report, practical design on the lens and the experiment of illumination characteristics are described.　It is shown that the lens method is very effective in view of the uniform illumination of a certain planar area and the saving of energy consumption. This lens method will be applicable to road illuminations and display-case illuminations, etc.
