Abstract
Recently, it becomes popular to use small size computers in a mobile environment and there are many demands to make a direct communication among mobile computers for exchanging or sharing their information. We have proposed an incremental construction method for ad-hoc networks based on infrared communication (IrDA). In this paper, we show a performance evaluation of this method by computer simulations. By using various simulation models, we simulate the construction of ad-hoc networks and evaluate the process. We also evaluate the influence of the algorithm parameters in several simulation models. By the evaluation we exemplify the validity of the proposed methods which reduce the traffic of the node information packets.
