The following paper presents an edited transcription of an interview conducted between the writer and Professor Mario Saraceni about the topic of World Englishes (WE). Mario is Reader in English Language and Linguistics in the School of Languages and Area Studies at the University of Portsmouth, located in the South of England. In the interview, Mario reflects on WE in literature, as a research discipline, and as a theoretical and pedagogical perspective. It is hoped that the field of WE will be of interest to those involved in the international tourism industry given the variety of English users they are likely to come in contact with. The interview took place in the summer of 2017 and was previously intended for, and released in podcast medium.
