In this paper, it's aimed at revealing and examining the underlying hypothesis of former studies about the relativity of juvenile delinquency and families by looking at them from the sociological perspective. Those researches can be roughly divided into two standpoints. One is "Families as the cause," and the other is "Families as the place of rehabilitation." The former discussed about how families become causes of delinquency. In other words, they consider what kinds of trouble at families have an influence on children's becoming delinquent. On the other hand, from the point of view of "families as the place of rehabilitation," families are considered that they have functions as the place for rehabilitation. In this standpoint, researchers discuss about how children's second offence can be defended, and about how their families can help it. Those previous works have a common problem. That is they set the "correct" or "deviant" way of families depending on the modern family norm. There are two problems. At first, there is a risk that supports for families of juvenile delinquents can't be fulfilled. Secondly, even if social supports are arranged, there is a risk that those supports will oppress diversity of families today. As a strategy for overcoming these problems, two things are pointed out. One is relativizing images of "the normal family", the other is regarding social "Eyes(Manazashi)," which judge whether a way of family is "correct" or "deviant," as a problem.
