抄録

The water quality and biota of three rivers flowing through Nara city : the Saho, Noto and Iwai were examined. Setting 5-7 stations downward along the stream, the distribution of plants at riverside aild that of benthonic animals and the water quality as inorganic nitrogen compounds, were studied. The water quality became worse as the rivers flow downstream. The distribution of benthonic aninimals depended on the water quality. The distribution of plants and animals around and in the rivers was discussed in relation [NH4+ -N]as an Indicator.
