Description

This paper will discuss Gao Yingshu, who lived during the Tang Dynasty. The epitaph of Gao Yingshu was discovered in the 1970s. Since then, this epitaph has been studied by Chinese and Korean researchers, who identify Gao Yingshu as being from Goguryeo. In contrast, I argue that Gao Yingshu is a Khitan. This paper will provide evidence for this hypothesis and discuss the relationship between the Khitan and Goguryeo at Yingzhou during the Tang Dynasty.
