Description

The Physical/Occupational Therapist Designated Rule of the Training Facilities (Designatedrule) is a departmental order issued based on the methods followed by physical and occupational therapists. The fourth revision will be enforced in 2020. The purpose of this study is to understand the current status of clinical practice and clarify future refinements for the designated rule revision. We conducted a questionnaire survey among 65 students engaged in clinical practice for 10 weeks. The proportion of those who said that problem accomplishment time was less than one hour was 18.5~26.2%. In addition, about 95% of the students engaged in several cases, and responded that they dealt with a disease that required targeted physiotherapy, for which training facilities were provided. On the other hand, it was inferred that the clinical clerkship period was extensive. Regarding the problem accomplishment time, there needs to be innovative changes in the future. This study grasped the current situation of clinical practice and aims to enable students to perform clinical practice effectively.
