インドネシアでは、交通事故が非常に深刻な社会問題となっている。そこで、児童生徒を対象とした効果的な交通安全教育プログラムの開発を目指し、その基礎資料を得ることを目的とした調査を実施した。西ジャワ州バンドン市の4 校におけるインタビュー調査と児童生徒への質問紙調査の結果、交通事故やヒヤリハットの経験が非常に多くあるにも関わらず、学校はその状況を十分に把握していない実態が明らかになった。また、ヒヤリハットの危険性について児童生徒は理解しておらず、教育の必要性が感じられた。今後、これらの結果を踏まえ、具体的な教材開発を進めていく予定である。

Traffic accident is an extremely serious social problem in Indonesia. Therefore, to develop an effective traffic safety education program for children and students, we conducted surveys to obtain basic data regarding traffic accidents. The results of an interview survey with four schools in Bandung, West Java Province, and a questionnaire survey with their students revealed that the schools were not fully aware of the situation, even though they had a large number of traffic accidents and near-miss incidents. Moreover, the children and students do not understand the danger of near-miss incidents; this indicates the need for education. Based on these results, we plan to develop concrete educational materials in the future.
