Abstract
"Foundations Earth Electrode" is a earthing system that uses foundations of a building as a earth electrode. This earth system is defined by IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standards, Interpretation of technical standards for electrical equipment, and Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS-A-4201). The foundations of the detached house is reinforced concrete and can be used as a earth system. And the housing foundations can be constructed as a safe and reliable earth system. However, at the present time, the practical use of the earth electrode as a substitute for the detached house foundation has not been achieved. In the future, the "Smart House", which has been automated by IoT, will be rapidly developed, and safety related to the electrical equipment in the house, stable operation of information and communication equipment, and lightning surge protection measures will be important. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the earth system of the detached house.
