本研究はスポーツ指導者に資格を付与する制度である公認スポーツ指導者制度を分析・考察し、アスレティックトレーナーの社会的地位を向上させるためのアスレティックトレーナーを取り巻く制度の構造を明らかにすることを目的とし、公認認スポーツ指導者制度の歴史的経緯を経済学における制度分析の中でも特に「制度的補完性」と「経路依存性」の概念を用いて検討した。その結果、現在のJSPO-ATを資格認定する制度をアマチュア・アスレティックトレーナー資格制度とし、その上位概念である公認スポーツ指導者制度から経路依存し相互補完性のある制度と位置付けた。またアマチュア・アスレティックトレーナー資格制度と補完性のある上位概念としてアマチュア・アスレティックトレーナー制度を位置付けた。さらにアマ・アスレティックトレーナー制度と補完性のあるプロ・アスレティックトレーナー制度を位置付けることで、それらの両方を含むアスレティックトレーナー制度を構造化した

The purpose of this study is to analyze the official sport instructors system, which is a system for certifying qualifications for sport instructors, and to clarify the structure of the system surrounding athletic trainers in order to improve the social status of athletic trainers. The historical background of the official sport instructors system was examined using the concepts of "institutional complementarity"and" path dependence" in the institutional analysis in economics.
