Description
In this paper, I considered the problem of understanding the word gifted and social acceptance in Japan. There are concerns about the lack of appropriate support and support systems for highly intelligent children at organizations in the areas of education and welfare in Japan, and the difficulty in living due to the problem. As a result, the gifted education in the United States has come to the attention in Japan. However, the question is whether it is appropriate to use the term ❛gifted❜ for the education of children with high intelligence in Japan. For this reason, this paper considered the cultural background of word gifted and talented by tracing the history and the underlying discourse and influence.
