Generally speaking, it is difficult to introduce social distance to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to carry out both infection prevention and economic activities. However, the difficulty can be solved by devising and applying the new IT technology included in Industry 4.0. I have observed three precedent cases in the entertainment industry. In the entertainment industry, where it is most difficult to conduct business while ensuring social distance, the three cases I observed were brilliantly successful. In all the cases I observed, they were experimenting with many new ways to engage the audience, using Internet streaming and VR. From this result, I decided that my idea was indeed feasible. The most important success factor is to reconstruct the measures to achieve the end goal without being trapped in the preconceived notions. And these new measures are by no means impossible to achieve by using current IT technology. But, In Japan, new IT technologies have not yet spread to the level of social life. Therefore, if new information technology is applied ingeniously in Japanese society, both infection prevention and economic activities can be carried out.
