Abstract
type:text
T. Chisaka found some ripple marks at five localities on the sandyshale of the south side of the Hiraiso fishing port, Chikura Town, Awa district, Chiba prefecture, in May 1975. Those localities belong to sandstone and shale of the alternating Hata formation a (Naruse and others, 1951). Also this formation was called Senda formation by Hirano and Yajima (1976, MS.) at Chikura area. The characters of the ripple marks are as follows; 1. The ripple marks do not appear on the sandstone but appear on the sandyshale. 2. The ripple marks are small, and the intervals of dunes are 1 to 2 cm. The height of dune is about 3 to 5 mm. 3. Dunes are not parallel but crooked. 4. We considered that ripple marks are made of moving waves. Since dunes are symmetrical.
