抄録

This paper summarizes the development of Marxian economics, specifically the development of the social reproduction theory, in China. Firstly, the paper provides a brief overview of the development of Marxian economics and the eight schools of Marxian economics spawned in china. Then, some representative research related to the social reproduction theory will be outlined from a theoretical and empirical study perspective, respectively. The research suggests that both theoretical and empirical studies related to the social reproduction theory are immature. Moreover, the problem, such as the inability to correspond to the actual economy, exists. In this instance, a hybrid model that combines the strengths of the social reproduction theory and neoclassical optimal growth model, the Marxian optimal growth model, has attracted much attention in recent years and is thought to provide an orientation for Chinese Marxian economists.
