This paper aims to focus on the social security of migrant workers, to investigate the actual situation of social security and its policies. For a long time, China has carried out social security system reform around the “migrant worker problem”, but due to the restrictions of the household registration system, the reform of the social security system for migrant workers has not made much progress. As a result, migrant workers in the city as a special existence, in the labor market acceptance and social system rejection coexist. After the reform and opening up, the scale of urban migrant workers has been increasing, resulting in more and more serious social problems. After 2014, with the progress of the reform of the household registration system, the social security reform for migrant workers began. However, the dual structure of the society caused by the household registration system has become a stumbling block to solve the problem of migrant workers.
