説明

The authors measured the percentage of water-surface area on the topographical map of 1 : 50,000 scale with reference of the results of field survey in Kanto region, Japan. Obtained value of the percentage of water-surface area by Prefecture is as follows; [Table] Obtained value for each Prefecture does not exceed as much of 6 % on uncultivated season. On cultivated season, it varies from 2.7 to 25.9 %. It is noticed that these values are mostly equal to that of U. S. A. and that of Shikoku region in Japan. The authors suggest that there is some relation between percentage value of water-surface area and degree on damage of river disasters.
