The Sacro Monte Calvary of Domodossola, one of the constituent assets of the world heritage “Sacri Montiof Piedmont and Lombardy”, was started in the second half of 17th century against the background of the dissemination of the “Via Crucis” devotion in the 17th century. The study of this Sacro Monte continues to be based on Tullio Bertamini’s 1980 dissertation, compared to the accumulation of studies of other major Sacri Monti. The fact is that the texts of the few books and articles published after that are either in charge of him or rely heavily on his achievements when written by others. In Japan, as far as I can tell, there is no discussion that outlines the process of its formation and the decoration of the chapel. Therefore, in this paper, although the reference to ancient documents is insufficient, as part of the overall understanding of the movement of artists between Sacri Monti and the actual situation of collaborative production promoted by the artists, based on the results of previous research, I tried to grasp the whole picture of this Sacro Monte, especially the painters and sculptors involved in the chapels decoration. At that time, by creating two tables on the artists involved in the construction and completion of each chapel, their activities, and their birthplaces, it was made easier to visually understand the transition and characteristics. As for the development, in Chapter 1 first we described the process leading up to the start of construction of Domodossola’s Sacro Monte, and then in Chapter 2, the artists engaged in construction and decoration were specified as much as possible while following the current pilgrimage route, and making transition tables (Tables 1 and 2) with information, we clarified whether or not a breakthrough is possible in about 300 years until completion. Then, in Chapter 3, we analyzed the transition from the start of construction to the completion and the artists involved, while following the set age group, and summarized the analysis results in the conclusion.
