During Kasei Era and Tenpo Era, Matajiro Nagano, machinanushi (the head of a town), devoted himself not only to serving as myosyu (the nominal holder of a myoden,a rice field)but also to socializing with the literati. About sixty letters addressed to him from famous artists, haikai (popular linked verse) poets, Buddhist monks,and sado (tea ceremony) mastaers where full of interesting comments. The researchies were made present wraitaer. This paper aims to syudy on Genshami.

江戸福富町の町名主を務めた永野又次郎は、化政期から天保期の文人たちと交流を深めていた。彼らが又次郎にあてた書簡約60通、書簡と共に漢詩なども残されている1)。これらを読み解くことによって、江戸文化の熟成期の姿の一面を知ることが可能である。過去11回にわたって永野又次郎宛の書簡と、その当時又次郎の身に起きた事件、名主としての仕事ぶりなどを紹介してきた。 今回は「幻沙弥」の断簡を紹介する。きわめて短いものであり、宛名も記されていないが、この短い文章から想像されることを考えてみたい。
