The purpose of this study was to investigate study-attitudes during the senior high-school days of recent university students in Japan. One hundred and eighty six undergraduate students (most of them freshmen) answered a questionnaire. The results are as follows : (1) 70% of the students attended school regularly, but 20% were often late for school. (2) For most students, their study-attitudes in senior high-school days were not so good. (3) They studied for about one and a half hours at home on average. (4) Senior high-school attendance was closely related to university day's attendance. Finally, the current trend of low achievement levels by university students in Japan was discussed m this paper.
