Description

This study was aimed at clarifying the effects of on-site practice at rehabilitation wards on students5 recognition of rehabilitation nursing. The significance of 45 items representing specialized functions in rehabilitation nursing was surveyed in 70 student nurses before and after on-site practice, and the results were analyzed by t-test and cluster analysis. It was found that;1)the significance of 9 of the 45 items significantly differed in the students during the period before and after practice ; 2) the number of clusters decreased after practice ; and 3) functions in general nursing and those in rehabilitation nursing were more similarly understood by the students after practice. Based on these findings, it is considered that on-site practice at rehabilitation wards helped the students understand the 45 specialized function items of nursing learned in the classroom in the context of rehabilitation.
