The authors have investigated the possibility of utilizing inflight partial pressure field sensing for flight control especially for gust alleviation in severe turbulence environments. In addition to increasing the amount of feedback information, it is important to clarify how the utilization of pressure fields contributes to improved control performance and reliability. The aim of this study is to extract some principal components of the flow field in real time according to the control objectives, and to use this for an adaptive flight control system. As a preparation, we will analyze the principal components of the flow field and correlation coefficients with various motion quantities using actual flight data of model aircraft.
