説明

Picture books consist of illustrations and text. When reading aloud, the act of listening to the words with the ears and looking at the illustrations of the picture book with the eyes is performed at the same time. How do children enjoy the world of stories when they look at pictures, when they hear only the text, and when they hear the text while looking at the pictures? Therefore, I reviewed the picture book from the child's point of view, and considered how the story reaches the child's heart in “reading”, focusing on the relationship between the picture and the word. The effect of picture books was maximized when they were read aloud. Furthermore, the storytelling that children can enjoy in the world of picture books was based on the selection of picture books according to the age and experience of the listener. As a reading skill, it was necessary to read in a way that matched the characteristics of the picture book(ratio of pictures and sentences, content).
