The purpose of this study is to c1arify one of the important meanings in modern dance from a historical perspective. Considering dance history，it is important to pay attention to the structure of movements in dance of two primitive races. A bipolar structure of movement can be seen throughout history，even to this day. One is oriented toward the sky，and the other is oriented toward the earth. In conclusion，this study is promoted to indicate the universality of dance.
