The purposes of this study were to develop a Cognitive Scale of the Development Support in Childcare (CSDSC), and to analyze the individual factors. Valid responses were received from 513 nursery teachers in the field of childcare. They were analyzed to examine the structure of factors associated with the scale, and two factors were extracted, Factors I “Recognition of direct and indirect supports in childcare”, and Factors II “Recognition of institutional childcare environment”. The results show that CSDSC had adequate reliability and validity. Cronbach’s α value for the scale was .84, and those for the subscales were .81 and .86. Findings from the statistical analysis suggest that how the association of these factors differs depending on respondent attributes such as age, years of experience, and the type of facility to which they belong.
