The aim of this project is to study the possibility of introduction of the haskap cultivated in Kelowna, Canada to Japanese fields and make this name popular in Japan. The study started by visiting the haskap farm and the factory in Kelowna, to analyze nutrition components, to make a trial jam and to make haskap cookies in the first year. Ginn - no - mori corporation, which is located in Ena City, Gifu Pref., made the trial haskap meringue. We tried selling the products at the Shimizuya store in May 2021 and it was very well received. We, however, realized that we would not able to sell the product to the Japanese market due to haskap high cost. Therefore, we will conduct research in 2022 with an approach that puts the superiority of Canadian haskap, such as strong sweetness and high amount of vitamin E, in the foreground rather than price competition.
