University Art and Design classes for nursery and elementary school teacher training should not be a repetition or extension of art classes at junior high schools and high schools. They should be classes to experience Art and Design, and to develop Art and Design materials for infants and children so that teacher trainees can teach these at preschools and schools after graduation. In addition, these classes should be classes to enhance the ability to compose and develop Art and Design skills. Based on this concept, this paper describes concrete practices of teaching Art and Design at universities for training nursery and elementary school teachers, with the following requirements: teaching materials that students can enjoy working with, teaching materials that integrate classroom Art and Design activities into children's Art and Design activities, and viewing materials that enable children to learn about various works and Art and Design activities. This paper includes specific practices.
