Description
Historically, Rammed earth was strengthened by adding lime or bittern to local soil or sand. Nowadays, while Portland cement is used for added structural strength, it often ends up as industrial waste upon dismantling, with little reuse. This necessitates an alternative to Portland cement for sustainable rammed earth construction. This research explores the use of blast furnace slag fine powder for rammed earth evaluating formulations not yet standardized in engineering and testing their mechanical properties. Furthermore, to assess environmental compatibility, plant growth was observed on the samples.
