地域が抱える問題の1つに「地域活性化」がある。地域活性化を実現する方法の1つがスポーツである。そこで、我々は、中部大学生が地域活性化に資する人材として成長するために、春日井市と社会福祉法人まちスウィングと共同で、大学外の地域コミュニティにおいて大学生が地域住民に運動指導を行うことができる機会を設けた。大学生は、50歳以上を対象としたシニア教室と、小学生を対象としたキッズ教室の2教室での運動指導を担当した。運動指導のみならず、運動メニュー作成および運動指導に対する反省を大学生に課

Regional revitalization is one of the important issues for local community. Revitalization can be advanced through sports. In order to cultivate human resources contributing to regional revitalization, students in Chubu University were given an opportunity to provide education on sports and physical exercises for community-dwelling persons in local community classes outside the university in collaboration with Kasugai City and Social Welfare Corporation Machi swing. The students take charge of two classes: one class is for persons 50 years of age or older, and another class for elementary school children. The students not only provide instructions on sports and physical exercises but also create exercise menus. The students reflect on their performance after the completion of classes. Two students who had participated in the classes obtained a job in Social Welfare Corporation Machi swing after graduation from university. They are now engaged in town development projects through sports in the same local area. This case is in accordance with the intent of guidelines about construction of a regional collaborative platform offered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Technology. The guidelines state that industries are expected to enhance the function of human resource development of universities by their active collaboration and that a virtuous cycle of retaining excellent human resources is expected as a result of their collaboration.
