In this article, I have considered with regard to the cultivation of “joint emotions (Gemeingefühl)" which are the root of children's morality and religiosity from the specific form of “experiential faith" (religious experience) in Fröbel's educational philosophy. Fröbel understood that the first experience of “joint emotions" is when the child feels a sense of security. He believed that play and work in early childhood are religious experience, and that through play children are guided into a sublime world by the beauty and splendor of nature. He observed the development in children of “joint emotions" in children that foreshadowed a union between nature, humans, and God.

本稿では、フレーベルの教育思想における子どもの宗教心、なかでも道徳性や宗教性の発達の根源の「共同感情」の育ちについて、「経験的信仰」(信仰的な経験)の具体的な形容等の様子から検討した。「共同感情」の最初の経験は安心を感じる予感の経験であるということ、また乳幼児期の遊戯や仕事は宗教であるということ、さらに子どもは遊びを通じて自然の美しさと不思議さの中で崇高な世界に導かれ、自然と人間と神との合一の予感「共同感情」が発達していくということ、これらの視点をフレーベルは子どもの予感である「共同感情」の育ちから捉えていた。
