The study aims to investigate the actual situation and the search of background factors on anxiety of child-rearing fathers. Eighty seven fathers rearing children over one month were assessed, using Father’s Scale for the Screening Version, the quality of marriage index, and questionnaire created by the researchers. The results of the average score on subscales１“difficulties of child-rearing, type １” was １０．２, subscale２ “difficulties of child-rearing, type 2” ６．５, subscale３ “feelings of anxiety or depression”７．０, and subscale ４ “the marital relationship”８．９in Father’s Scale for the Screening Version. The high-risk group of subscale１was１７．２％, subscale２ ８．０％, subscale３ ４．６％, and subscale４ ６．９％. On background factors for child-rearing anxiety of fathers, fathers of high-risk group had a short time of housework and child-rearing, and lower marital relationship. The situation of child-rearing fathers has not been clarified, and there is no scale specialized for childrearing fathers. Therefore, we need the scale of child-rearing father on physical, mental and social aspect.
