2017年9月30日～10月1日、上北山村村民総合会館(奈良県吉野郡上北山村) において、2017年度奈良教育大学学長裁量経費の支援を受けたESDワークショップ2017が開催された。ワークショップでは、本学教員3名、大学院生2名、学部生8名、留学生3名の総勢16名の参加者が得られた。初日は昼間に昆虫や植物を観察しながらの和佐又山登山が実施され、夜間には“Leave NoTrace”の講義が実施された。二日目には、野外救急の速習講座と山歩き現場でのワークショップが大台ヶ原・大峯山・大杉谷ユネスコエコパーク(OOOBR) において展開された。参加者にとっては、“Leave No Trace”を通してESDの本質を学ぶ非常に充実した講義内容であり、収穫の多い濃密な二日間であった。今回のワークショップでは、くしくも留学生3名の参加が得られたことにより、異文化コミュニケーションまでもが行われ、文部科学省の日本ユネスコ国内委員会が掲げるESD (Education for Sustainable Development) の理念中の、生物多様性学習、環境学習、防災学習に加え、国際理解学習といった内容が展開された。本稿では、ESDワークショップ2017の実績を反映させ、本学の教員養成に資する防災教育野外体験プログラムを開発したので報告する。ESD Workshop 2017 with the support of President’s discretionary expenses of Nara University of Education was held from September 30 to October 1, 2017 at the Kamikitayama Village General Hall, Nara. A total of 16 participants were obtained at the workshop, including 3 teachers of the university, 2 graduate students, 8 undergraduates and 3 international students. On the first day, hillwalking at Mount Wasamatayama with observing insects and plants was carried out in the daytime, then a lecture on “Leave No Trace” was held in the evening. On the next day, a workshop for outdoor emergency at hillwalking scene was held in the Mount Odaigahara, Mount Omine, and Osugidani Biosphere Reserve (OOOBR). It was very fulfilling content to learn the essence of ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) through “Leave No Trace”, and was a rich harvest two days for the participants. In this workshop, as a result of participation of three international students, the international understanding learning were also developed, in addition to the three learnings such as biodiversity, environment, and disaster prevention learnings stated in the philosophy of ESD listed by the Japanese UNESCO National Committee of MEXT. By reflecting the achievement of ESD Workshop 2017, we report on developing “the field experience program for disaster prevention education” that contribute to the teacher training of our university.
