Applicability of Strain Softening Analysis for Tunnel Excavation

Description
As a one of alternative model to predict the behavior of tunnel excavation in unconsolidated ground, the strain hardening up to softening model has been proposed in this paper. The model based on plastic theory has been formulated, not in ordinary stress space but in strain one because of consistent unloading definition due to strain softening.
