Abstract

ジェイムズ・ジョイス著『フィネガンズ・ウェイク』の第3 部第3 章の501ページ 行目から527ページの2行目までを訳出した。逐語的に訳したところもあるが、内容をくみとりながらその主意を表したところもあり、「概要」といった題名にした。この訳出した箇所では、ヨーンとなったショーンに対する、4人の博士の尋問の模様が記されてある。

I translated into Japanese James Joyce's Finnegans Wake III, 3(p.501.7-p.527.2). In some parts I translated it word for word, but in other parts I just gave the gist of the sentences or the paragraphs. So in naming the title I used the word ‘epitome,’ not ‘translation.’ The epitome mainly treats Four Masters’ inquisition on Yaun.
