Abstract

A fairly complete plastron with the imcomplete carapace of the hinged terrapine was obtained from fissure deposits at Katayama marble quarry, Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture by a field party of Nagato Caving Club. In summer of 1974, it was sent to the Akiyoshidai Science Museum for identification. The present paper briefly described the characteristics of the Katayama specimen, and discussed its geologic age and morphological relation with Cyclemys miyatai SHIKAMA, 1949 and C. akiyoshiensis SHIKAMA and OKAFUJI, 1964.
