The distributions of neptunium and uranium between strongly basic anion exchanger Dowex 2 and acetate solution were studied. The distribution coefficient (Kd) of Np (V) was about 1 in 1~2M solution of acetic acid, and it was slightly increased with increasing the concentration of acetic acid. Np (IV) showed a maximum distribution in 2M solution of acetic acid, and its distribution coefficient was about 4.4. The distribution coefficient of Np (V) was about 10 in 0.2M solution of sodium acetate ; however, it was decreased with increasing the concentration of sodium acetate. The distribution coefficient of uranium was very high either in acetic acid solution or in sodium acetate solution, which was 5×10^2~10^3 between 0.01 and 2M acetic acid. In sodium acetate solution, the distribution coefficient of uranium was decreased with increasing the concentration of sodium acetate, and in this result a linear relation was observed between log Kd and log [CH_3COO^-], and the tangent of its linear line was about -1. From this result, it was shown that the anionic species of uranium adsorbed in the resin was UO_2(CH_3COO)_3^-. The uranium adsorbed in the resin was easily eluted with 0.5M perchloric acid solution.
