In analysing the separation process in which the concentrability coefficient K cannot be regarded as a constant, the differential equation defining the variation of the concentrability coefficient has been derived by introducing concentrability function orthogonal to that derived in the first report as follows : [numerical formula] where γ is the radius vector and θthe polar angle in the polar coordinate representing the concentrability functions and m and n are constants. It has been shown that the differential equation can be applied satisfactorily in the interpretation of the results of batch flotation experiment of complex sulphide ores from the Yokota mine, Fukushima Prefecture. In addition, the degree of liberation of constituent minerals of the ores has been discussed.
