本稿では、高度情報化の特質をメディアの発達という視点から検討した。その結果、メディアの発達にともないメディア自体が持つ情報量は飛躍的に多くなり、私たちはただ待っているだけで多くの情報を獲得できるようになった。しかし同時に、メディアが持つ情報量が増えるのに比例して、人間が生み出す情報量が著しく減っていることが明らかになった。このような高度情報化時代において、私たちが人間的な生活を送るためには、「日本文化」の再構築が必要不可欠であることを提唱した。

This paper examined the special feature of high advancement in information technology from the viewpoint of development of media. Consequently, the amount of information which the media itself have increased by leaps and bounds with development of media, and we could acquire many information rapidly only by merely waiting. However, the more the amount of information which media have increases, the more the amount of the information which man produces decreases remarkably. In the high-advancement-in-information-technology age, in order for us to lead a humane life, reconstruction of "Japanese culture" is indispensable.
