The present study examined concurrent validity of the adult-version in the Kyoto Scale of Psychological Development (K-Scale) 2001 which has 3 domains of scores: cognitive-adaptive developmental quotient, language-social developmental quotient & total developmental quotient. Participants were 23 university students. Test performances of the K-Scale were compared with that of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Third Edition (WAIS-III), which has 3 kinds of scores: performance intelligence quotient, verbal intelligence quotient, full scale intelligence quotient. Each average of developmental/intelligence quotients was approximately 100. Also, there were high correlations between developmental quotients of the K-scale and intelligence quotients of the WAISIII.Concurrent validity could be confirmed. However, standard deviations of scores in the K-Scale were larger than those of the WAIS-III. Therefore, test items for adults should be added and then scrutinized furthermore in terms of construct validity.
