Description

In Mainland China, while many academies of classical learning traditionally worshiped Confucius; some academies however, worshiped Wenchang Dijun. In Taiwan, many of these academies were established during the Qing dynasty. In order to research the relationship between the academies and the Wenchang belief, this author visited some of the Wenchang shrines in academies located near Taipei.
