Abstract
On the acceptances and developments of Western anatomy in modern China and Japan, many scholars in the fields of the history of technology and other related research have extensively discussed. However, there are still different views on the terms of Kaibō (Jiepou) and Kaibōgaku (Jiepouxue). Some researchers insist that these two terms in modern Chinese are loan words from Japanese, but others don't think so. This paper, based on plenty of material, makes a study of their translations, formations, and entrenchments both in China and Japan, to describe a flowing around of modern Anatomy and show the cultural exchanges between these two countries in the background of Western studies into the East.
