Abstract

The management system MINDS was implemented from 1982 in a digestive organs surgical ward. MINDS is excellent for use in safety management; its performance for clinical and educational purposes was efficient in terms of cost and time. MINDS is a system diagnosis and treatment participation type, a self-developing type, problem solving study, and involves techniques that correspond to Clinical Clerkship, Tutorial System, Preceptor-ship, and the Case Base System. Compared with <PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) + Object Oriented Method + cybernetics + clinical record>, the MINDS system provides an excellent technique suitable for management, control, information transmission, records keeping, verification, supervision, audits, and evaluations. It was a MINDS system by which the development practice was followed in preparation for clinical usages and ICT education, by which a person and a computer cooperate, a system which does the system medical treatment and whole person medical treatment, and a clinical, educational (study) system. MINDS is a workflow system, and a groupware system. In MINDS, the critical path, the bottleneck, and the problem can be analyzed respectively of the unit of work and the unit of the person and the system whole. In MINDS, it is possible to evaluate precisely, to manage, to guide, and to educate internally and externally. MINDS possesses eight quality management principles of ISO, and uses a globally standard management system as a basic element.
