抄録

The article presents the research and analysis of the Japanese language learners from Tianhua Institute of Shanghai Normal University and Wentian Institute of Hehai University. Through questionnaires and analysis of the findings from the surveys, this study closely examines the students’ attitudes as well as their abilities in Japanese language acquisition. At the same time, it offers an evaluation of specific language skills of these learners. Furthermore, this study has made valuable observations of Japanese language program at Wentian Institute from various perspectives, which will help us better understand what level of Japanese language skills a student should have in order to be successful academically when entering a study-abroad program in Japan. This also provides us with new topics for future research studies, such as how should we teach Japanese language in China in order to better prepare Chinese students who are planning to major in various academic fields in Japanese higher education institutions.
