P(論文)

Mounds of burrowing animals such as moles, voles, etc. were observed in 1995 at 21 quadrats (10m x 10m) along a ca. 1050m long transect-S set on the south-facing slope, Le Serre mountain (2017 m a.s.!.), located in the subalpine zone of the central Pyrenees, France. Size, distribution and number of mounds at 13 quadrats located at the mid to downslope of the transect-S are described in the present paper. The results demonstrate spatial variability of mound number (pedot-urbation). Possible controlling factors for the distribution of mounds and geomorphological significance of the pedoturbation will be discussed elsewhere.
