入学試験は、各校の教育理念・目的、入学者受け入れ方針に基づいて試験のあり方や方法、合否の基準を設定している。さらに国家試験の合格が卒業後の学生の進路に大きく影響する、保健師助産師看護師学校養成所にとっては、在学中、学習への適応能力を持つ学生の選別も入学試験の大きな目的のひとつとなる。本研究は入学試験のあり方を考える基礎的資料を得る目的のひとつとして、助産師国家試験合格率を取り上げ、1998~2002年の助産師学校養成所(大学を除く)の、入学試験時に観察される競争倍率・超過合格率・充足率・入学生の平均年齢の入試4指標に注目し、国家試験合格率との関連性を分析した。その結果、競争倍率・平均年齢は正方向に、超過合格率・充足率は負方向に影響することが明らかになった。

For the entrance examination, the format for the test itself as well as the standard for passing are set according to the educational philosophy and goals of each individual school and their policies towards accepting new applicants. Furthermore, passing the national qualifying examination has a significant effect on the future of those who graduate. At schools for training public health nurses, midwives and nurses, selection and consideration of those who are capable of acclimating to their studies are important factors. As part of the studies to obtain fundamental data to define the ideal form of an entrance examination, the percentage of students passing the national qualifying examination for midwifery was examined in a current study. Of those gathered at midwifery training schools (excluding those affiliated with universities) between 1998 and 2002, our focus was on 4 items observed at the entrance examination, 1). The percentage of applicants accepted, 2). Percentage percentage of those accepted in excess of the original class size, 3). Percentage percentage filling the capacity for applicants, 4). The mean age of the applicants. The data were analyzed in relation to the rate of passing the national qualifying examination. It was found that the percentage of applicants accepted and the mean age were positively related. The percentage of those accepted in excess of the original class size and the percentage meeting the expected number of applicants were negatively related to passing the national examination.
