It was assumed that there should be some relationships among interpersonal stress, assertion, and self-control. One hundred and twenty-four undergraduates served as the rater. They are asked to respond to on the three different scales: Interpersonal Event Scale (Hashimoto, 1997), Adolescent Assertion Scale (Tamase et al.,2001), and Redressive-Reformative Self-Control Scale (Sugiwaka, 1995). Pearson correlation coefficients and pass analysis of the data revealed that the redressive self-control had certain inhibitive effect on interpersonal inferiority complex, though the other relationships were negligible. The result suggests that the training of redressive self-control will be effective for maintaining adolescent mental health under stress.
