Description

In the transition from pre-modern to modern times, some researchers and writers of various fields wrote many important texts whether consciously or not about the passing of the era. From these writings, we can recognize that we have experienced not only the change of the views on life and death but also the change of our temporal awareness and the sense of belonging to the community in a relative perspective. Focusing on mainly philosophical, literal, and anthropological notions of circulating time in the transition from pre-modern to modern times, I explore what these writings reveal about time, community and language. By juxtaposing these two periods, I hope to render a more complete portrait of the relationships among the view of life and death, circulating time, traditional community and form of presentation. Through these thoughts, I also point out the importance of considering the perspective from literature, philosophy, and. anthropology on nursing research.
