Abstract

For long time, many self-esteem researchers have examined the relation between self-esteem and the importance that place on each specific facet of self-concept. This article reviewed studies dealing with the subjective importance of selfconcept in Japanese and English researches. Many researches showed self-concept were differently affected by subjective important facet of self concept and unimportant one. Particularly, the subjective importance is closely related to individual self-esteem. Therefore, we proposed subjective importance should be considered to research of self-concept.
