説明
In Schelling's philosophy in his latter period we are able to find a forerunner of "Existential philosophy" of today, and the problem of the Non-being forms the core of his thought. The concept of the Non-being is a negative principle of the Being. It is an ontological principle and underlies the problems of finitude, untruth and the sin of the human individual. After the publication of "Philosophische Untersuchungen uber das Wesen der menschlichen Freiheit" (1809) namely, in the last stage of his philosophical thought, Schelling develops what he calls his "positive philosophy", a philosophy of revelation and mythology. In this philosophy, the universe is regarded as the fall from God, and the meaning of this fall is sought in the concept of the Non-being of man. Because of this fact, in Schelling's opinion, we may get a hint of the self-conciousness of the human individual. In this paper, the author will treat the problem of the Non-being from four point of view. (1) The development of the concept of the Non-being in Schelling's philosophy. (2) The Non-being in God which should be restored at the time of God's creation of the world. (3) Potentiality theory. (4) The system of the positive philosophy.
