Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explicate the characteristics and problems of the theory “Author concept” in teaching reading of expository texts. This paper is explicate the characteristics and problems of the theory “Author Concept” on the theory of “Assuming author of texts” -Hissha-Soutei-Ho- by E. KURASAWA. “Assuming author of texts” is two methods. One is the method of assuming “implied author”, whom reader assumes, not “real author”- the person who wrote the text. The other is the method of pursuing the processes of author's writing. But Kurasawa use the term “author” without the difference between “real author” and “implied author”. So there are the problems (“Definite Author Concept, Assuming of real author, Relation between Implied Author and characteristics of texts, Process of Assuming of Author”).
